NASCAR at Charlotte odds, predictions: 2020 Alsco Uniforms 500 picks from model that nailed the Daytona 500

The NASCAR Cup Series hits the track at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the second time in a four-day span as the top circuit looks to make up for races canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. After Brad Keselowski won the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday, now the drivers turns their attention to the 2020 Alsco Uniforms 500 on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET. Keselowski became the third different driver to win since NASCAR’s return, joining Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin, who each won Darlington races the prior week.

The latest 2020 Alsco Uniforms 500 odds from William Hill list Keselowski at 10-1, Harvick at 11-1 and Hamlin at 12-1. Martin Truex Jr. (4-1), Chase Elliott (5-1) and Kyle Busch (7-1) are on top of the 2020 NASCAR at Charlotte odds board for Wednesday. Before finalizing any 2020 Alsco Uniforms 500 picks, see the latest 2020 NASCAR at Charlotte predictions and projected leaderboard from SportsLine’s proven projection model.

Developed by daily Fantasy pro and SportsLine predictive data engineer Mike McClure, this proprietary NASCAR prediction model simulates every race 10,000 times, taking into account factors such as track history and recent results.

The model began the 2020 NASCAR season by picking Denny Hamlin to win his second consecutive Daytona 500 at 10-1. It got off to a hot start on its NASCAR picks following the coronavirus hiatus as well, calling seven of the top 10 drivers at The Real Heroes 400 and the Toyota 500 at Darlington. Anybody who has followed it has seen huge returns.

Now, the model simulated the NASCAR at Charlotte 2020 race on Wednesday, May 27 10,000 times. Head here to see the complete projected leaderboard.

Top 2020 Alsco Uniforms 500 predictions

For Wednesday, the model is high on Jimmie Johnson, even though he’s a 15-1 long shot in the latest Charlotte NASCAR odds. He’s a target for anyone looking for a huge payday. Johnson is getting strong value at a racetrack he’s historically dominated. He’s won eight times in the Cup Series at Charlotte, and he almost registered No. 9 on Sunday.

He finished just one second behind Keselowski in a grueling overtime race that ended up going 405 laps around Charlotte’s 1.5-mile track. Johnson was ultimately relegated to the back of the field after the event because his car failed a post-race inspection, a decision that can be appealed. While Johnson’s Hendrick Motorsports team will need to address that issue, Johnson clearly showed he still knows how to contend at Charlotte, so you can confidently lock him in as one of your NASCAR at Charlotte bets for Wednesday.

And a massive shocker: Brad Keselowski, Sunday’s winner at Charlotte and one of the top-five favorites at 10-1, stumbles and finishes well outside the top five. While he was impressive on Sunday, Charlotte traditionally hasn’t been his best track. He ranks seventh among active Cup Series drivers with an average finish position of 13.95.

He’s also finished 15th or worse in three of his last five runs at this track. And with Sunday’s win marking Keselowski’s only top-three performance in 2020 thus far, the model has identified him as one of the 2020 NASCAR at Charlotte favorites to avoid on Wednesday.

How to make 2020 Alsco Uniforms 500 picks

The model is also targeting three other drivers with NASCAR at Charlotte odds of 12-1 or longer to make a serious run at the checkered flag. Anyone who backs these drivers could hit it big.
