CONCACAF World Cup qualifying picks for Mexico vs. Panama

Before you tune in to Wednesday’s World Cup qualifiers, you need to see the CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers picks from European soccer insider Martin Green. After working in the sports betting industry for several years, Green became a professional sports writer and handicapper and has covered the game worldwide. Since then, his European soccer picks have been spot-on. Green has generated over $36,000 for $100 bettors since the 2017-18 season, and he has his finger on the pulse of the game all over the globe.

For Mexico vs. Panama, Green is predicting Mexico to win at -175 odds. El Tri has had very little trouble with disposing of Panama in recent matchups as Mexico has won four straight and nine of the last 10 head-to-head contests. The most recent of those was a 3-0 win in June during a friendly match at a neutral site.

These squads are worlds apart in the eyes of FIFA, which ranks Mexico as the ninth-best team in the world while Panama is ranked 74th. The Panamanians have simply struggled to generate any offense against Mexico as Panama has recorded just three goals over its last 10 games against El Tri. Green predicts much of the same come Wednesday and he points to Mexico’s superior talent, even with it missing some key players.

“Rogelio Funes Mori has started up front, with Henry Martín on the bench, while Jesús Corona and Alexis Vega have started on the flanks,” Green told SportsLine. “Mexico misses the talents of [Raul] Jiménez and [Hirving] Lozano, but Funes Mori is a prolific striker and Vega has great potential, so it should still be able to unlock Panama’s defense.”
