Penn State entered the top 10 of the AP Top 25 for the first time in nearly a year to shakeup the rankings following a week of close games. Alabama still has a stranglehold on the No. 1 spot, though No. 2 Georgia is the only other school receiving first place votes. Oregon and Oklahoma also flipped to No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, after the Sooners survived a rivalry matchup against Nebraska

In the middle of the rankings, Arkansas and Ole Miss made noticeable jumps after taking care of business against Group of Five opponents. No. 15 BYU was one of the biggest winners of the day after beating Arizona State, knocking the Sun Devils out of the rankings in the process. The Cougars now have three wins over Power Five opponents. And in a sign of respect from the voters, Florida stayed at No. 11 after losing to Alabama at home.

Fresno State at No. 22 leads a wave of new entrants to the rankings after beating UCLA in a thrilling come-from-behind performance. No. 20 Michigan State and No. 25 Kansas State also joined the rankings.
