NBA DFS: Nikola Jokic and top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy basketball picks for Oct. 20, 2021

The NBA tipped off its 75th season on Tuesday but the majority of teams will be in action on Wednesday. We’ll see lots of familiar faces making their debuts with new teams such as Kyle Lowry with the Heat, Kemba Walker with the Knicks and Lonzo Ball with the Bulls. Predicting how well a player can assimilate with his new team is tough when making your NBA DFS picks. However, it’s a necessary tactic to formulate a successful NBA DFS strategy.

Can Lowry fit right in next to Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo as a new terrific trio in Miami? And will Walker’s return to his hometown of New York make him a must-roster for NBA DFS lineups? Before locking in any NBA DFS picks for Wednesday on sites like FanDuel or DraftKings, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure

McClure is a DFS professional with nearly $2 million in career winnings. He’s also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account.

This allows him to find the best NBA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any NBA DFS player.

On Tuesday, McClure listed Warriors guard Stephen Curry among his top NBA DFS picks on FanDuel and DraftKings. The result: Curry posted the eighth triple-double of his career with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. He returned 58 points on DraftKings and 53 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, McClure has turned his attention to the Wednesday, Oct. 20 NBA DFS slate and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NBA DFS picks for Wednesday, October 20

One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Wednesday is Nuggets center Nikola Jokic at $11,400 on DraftKings and $10,400 on FanDuel. The Serbian big man is coming off an MVP season in which he averaged 26.4 points, 10.8 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game, while also leading the league with 60 double-doubles.

Jokic and the Nuggets will open their season against the same team that ended their season last year in the Phoenix Suns. While Phoenix eliminated the Nuggets in the playoffs, Jokic put up some monstrous numbers including a historic game with 32 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists. Also, Nuggets guard Jamal Murray (knee) remains sidelined and Denver missing its second-best scorer means the team will rely on Jokic even more so for offensive production.

Part of McClure’s NBA DFS strategy also includes rostering Spurs guard Dejounte Murray ($6,800 on DraftKings, $7,700 on FanDuel). Murray has increased his numbers across the board in every season, and last year he posted career-highs of 15.7 points, 7.1 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game.

Murray is in line to become an even bigger part of the offense now that DeMar DeRozan has departed for Chicago. DeRozan was the Spurs’ best playmaker as he led the team in both points and assists last season, and now much of that role will go to Murray. Also, the departures of double-digit scorers Patty Mills and Rudy Gay open up more scoring opportunities for Murray. He’s in line for a career season and is an absolute steal at this price point for your NBA DFS lineups.

How to set NBA DFS lineups for Wednesday, October 20

McClure is also targeting a player who could go off for massive numbers on Wednesday because of a dream matchup. This pick could be the difference between winning your tournaments and cash games or going home with nothing. You can only see who it is here.
