On Wednesday night, PFL concludes the 2021 season with a loaded card featuring six championship bouts and the return of boxing great Claressa Shields for her second professional MMA bout. It’s a huge night for the promotion that should bring plenty of action with $1 million on the line for the winner in each of the championship fights.

In the night’s main event, Kayla Harrison will look to win the women’s lightweight tournament — and the $1 million prize — for the second time in what could be the final fight of her PFL career. Harrison takes on Taylor Guardado in the tournament finals. Harrison is a two-time Olympic gold medalist who has been dominant since transitioning to mixed martial arts, picking up an 11-0 record with nine stoppage victories. Guardado entered the season 0-1 as a professional but has won three fights to reach the finals, where she will look to score a massive upset as a +1300 underdog.

In another title match, the two most recent PFL welterweight champions will clash for this year’s title. Magomed Magomedkerimov won the 2018 season, defeating Ray Cooper III in the finals with a second-round guillotine choke. Cooper came back to win the 2019 season and now the two men ran to the finals with undefeated 2021 seasons to set up a huge rematch.

While not a championship bout, Claressa Shields’ fight on Wednesday night is likely to grab many of the headlines coming out of the event. Shields is the greatest female boxer in history, having won world titles in three weight classes. Looking for a new challenge, Shields signed with PFL where she battled Brittney Elkin, a fighter who entered the cage with a 3-6 record and still dominated much of the fight, taking advantage of Shields’ lack of grappling skills before gassing out and allowing Shields to score a third-round TKO. Shields now faces 2-0 Abigail Montes, a fighter who likely has less grappling skills than Elkin presented in her fight with Shields.

Here’s the fight card for PFL World Championship with the latest odds from Caesars Sportsbook.
