What to Know

The Houston Texans haven’t won a matchup against the Indianapolis Colts since Nov. 21 of 2019, but they’ll be looking to end the drought next Sunday. Houston and Indianapolis will face off in an AFC South battle at 1 p.m. ET at NRG Stadium. Given that these two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

The Texans came within a touchdown against the New York Jets on Sunday, but they wound up with a 21-14 loss. No one had a standout game offensively for Houston, but they got scores from WR Brandin Cooks and TE Brevin Jordan. QB Tyrod Taylor ended up with a passer rating of 134.10.

Indianapolis suffered a bitter loss on Sunday, failing to capitalize on an early lead against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Indianapolis fell to Tampa Bay 38-31. RB Jonathan Taylor put forth a good effort for the losing side as he punched in one rushing touchdown.

The losses put the Texans at 2-9 and the Colts at 6-6. Two defensive stats to keep an eye on: Houston is stumbling into the contest with the second most rushing touchdowns allowed in the league, having given up 17 on the season. Indianapolis has experienced some struggles of their own as they are worst in the NFL in passing touchdowns allowed, with 26 on the season. It’s possible one of these Achilles’ heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
