What to Know
The #3 Gonzaga Bulldogs will take on the #16 Alabama Crimson Tide at 8 p.m. ET this past Saturday at Climate Pledge Arena. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous games.
Gonzaga was able to grind out a solid win over the Tarleton State Texans last week, winning 64-55. It was another big night for the Bulldogs’ center Chet Holmgren, who had 15 points in addition to nine boards and four blocks. Holmgren has also now had at least three blocks in his past four games.
Meanwhile, Bama simply couldn’t be stopped last week, as they easily beat the Miami (Fla.) Hurricanes 96-64. Guard JD Davison and guard Keon Ellis were among the main playmakers for Bama as the former posted a double-double on 13 points and ten dimes along with six rebounds and the latter shot 5-for-6 from beyond the arc and finished with 22 points.
Gonzaga is the favorite in this one, with an expected 9.5-point margin of victory. Now might not be the best time to take Gonzaga against the spread since they’ve let down bettors for the past two consecutive games.
The Bulldogs are now 7-1 while the Crimson Tide sit at 6-1.
