The Indiana Pacers have been on the wrong side of a one-way rivalry with the Washington Wizards and are hoping to record their first win since Aug. 3 of last year. The Pacers will take on Washington at 7 p.m. ET Monday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse after having had a few days off. If the contest is anything like Washington’s 135-134 victory from their previous meeting in October, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.

Indiana came up short against the Miami Heat this past Friday, falling 113-104. A silver lining for Indiana was the play of small forward Caris LeVert, who had 27 points.

Meanwhile, the game between Washington and the Toronto Raptors on Sunday was not particularly close, with the Wizards falling 102-90. Small forward Kentavious Caldwell-Pope put forth a good effort for the losing side as he had 26 points. Caldwell-Pope’s performance made up for a slower matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers this past Friday. Caldwell-Pope’s points were the most he has had all season.

The Pacers are the favorite in this one, with an expected 5.5-point margin of victory. Now might not be the best time to take Indiana against the spread since they’ve let down bettors for the past two consecutive games.

Indiana is now 9-16 while Washington sits at 14-10. Indiana is 6-9 after losses this year, Washington 5-4.
