Vikings vs. Lions odds, picks, line, how to watch, live stream: Model reveals 2021 Week 13 NFL predictions

The Detroit Lions will host the Minnesota Vikings in a Week 13 NFC North clash on Sunday and both teams have appeared to be on the verge of breaking through of late, albeit in very different ways. The Vikings are 5-6 but all six of their losses have been by eight points or fewer against teams who are currently .500 or better while the Lions’ last three games have been decided by a field goal or less. Minnesota wants to stay in the NFC playoff picture while Detroit (0-10-1) would love to capture its first win of the season over a division rival. In select markets, you can stream the game on Paramount+.

The game will be played at Ford Field in Detroit and kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday and the Vikings are 6-5 against the spread this season while the Lions are 7-4. Minnesota is the seven-point favorite and the over-under is listed at 47.5 in the latest Vikings vs. Lions odds from Caesars Sportsbook. In select markets, Sunday’s matchup can be seen live on CBS and streamed live on Paramount+ with their must-have Premium plan.

Week 13 NFL picks for Lions vs. Vikings

Before you tune in to Sunday’s Vikings vs. Lions game, you need to see the NFL picks from SportsLine’s advanced computer model. The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up almost $7,100 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception six-plus years ago. The model enters Week 13 of the 2021 season on an incredible 131-94 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season.

The model also ranked in the top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past five years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94 percent of CBS Sports Football Pick’em players four times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is way up.

For Lions vs. Vikings, the model is backing Minnesota as seven-point road favorites. The Vikings are pretty clearly a middle-of-the-road team but in a conference that is bursting at the seams with mediocre football teams, they’re still very much in the hunt for a playoff spot so they shouldn’t be taking the Lions lightly on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Lions have been more competitive of late but their offensive challenges could be a huge problem. Detroit has scored 46 points in its last four games and hasn’t topped 20 points since scoring 33 in the season opener against San Francisco.

Without D’Andre Swift out, things will only get worse and it’s hard to imagine this offense can keep up with Kirk Cousins, Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen. And even though Minnesota will be without Dalvin Cook (shoulder), Alexander Mattison put up 153 scrimmage yards and a score against the Lions in Week 5. The model predicts over 400 yards of total offense for the Vikings to help them cover the touchdown spread on Sunday.
