NFL DFS, Steelers vs. Vikings: DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy football picks for Thursday Night Football

Recent reports suggest that Ben Roethlisberger will leave the Steelers after the season, meaning Week 14 could be his final Thursday Night Football appearance in black and gold. The 39-year-old quarterback has had an underwhelming season, but he showed last week he can still return plenty of value for NFL DFS lineups. Big Ben had two TDs and no picks against the rival Ravens, and he’ll look for similar success against the Vikings on Thursday Night Football.

Receiver Diontae Johnson caught both of Roethlisberger’s TD throws and has become the No. 1 option for Pittsburgh. Johnson and tight end Pat Freiermuth each have six touchdown grabs, so Minnesota will have its hands full whenever the Steelers reach the red zone. Which pass catcher should you favor for your NFL DFS strategy and NFL DFS stacks? Before finalizing your Steelers vs. Vikings NFL DFS picks, be sure to check out the NFL DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure.

McClure is a legendary professional DFS player with almost $2 million in career winnings. His methodology has led to enormous cashes on FanDuel and DraftKings. He took down two high-stakes tournaments on FanDuel in 2020 and recorded a pair top-10 finishes in tournaments with over 130,000 entrants on DraftKings. His lineups also finished inside the top 1 percent in more than a dozen other tournaments last season.

He uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every snap of NFL action, taking factors such as matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account. This allows him to find the best DFS values that he shares only with members at SportsLine.

Now, McClure has turned his attention to Vikings vs. Steelers and locked in his top daily Fantasy football picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NFL DFS picks for Steelers vs. Vikings

One of McClure’s top NFL DFS picks for Thursday Night Football is Steelers running back Najee Harris. The rookie had over 100 yards from scrimmage in Week 13 with 71 yards on the ground and 36 yards through the air. Harris has 1,166 yards from scrimmage on the season which ranks seventh in the NFL.

Look for that ranking to be boosted after Thursday Night Football thanks to the Vikings’ porous run defense. Minnesota ranks 29th against the run and just allowed Jamaal Williams of the Lions to post a season-high in rushing yards against it. No running back in the NFL plays a higher percentage of his team’s offensive snaps than Harris, so he will get every opportunity to gash Minnesota’s D.

Part of McClure’s optimal NFL DFS strategy also includes rostering Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson, who is coming off career-highs of 11 catches and 182 yards to go along with a touchdown in Week 13. Jefferson already has the third-most receiving yards (1,209) by a player in his first two seasons in the Super Bowl era and there are still five games left on the schedule.

The sophomore wideout has been essentially fail-proof this year, as he has either 70 receiving yards or a touchdown in all but one game. Pittsburgh’s defense hasn’t evoked memories of the Steel Curtain era, as the unit ranks middle-of-the-pack in pass defense. Pittsburgh has allowed three different wideouts to post at least 97 yards over the last three weeks, while also giving up three TDs to opposing receivers over that stretch. Jefferson should take advantage of a defense that’s been without top corner Joe Haden (foot) for the last three games.
