Eastern Kentucky @ No. 16 Southern California
Current Records: Eastern Kentucky 5-4; Southern California 8-0
What to Know
The Eastern Kentucky Colonels will head out on the road to face off against the #16 Southern California Trojans at 10 p.m. ET on Tuesday at Galen Center. USC will be strutting in after a win while the Colonels will be stumbling in from a loss.
Eastern Kentucky was within striking distance but couldn’t close the gap this past Saturday as they fell 85-80 to the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.
Meanwhile, the Trojans narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Washington State Cougars 63-61. Forward Chevez Goodwin (14 points) and guard Drew Peterson (13 points) were the top scorers for USC.
Eastern Kentucky is the clear underdog, so they’re hoping it’s the size of the fight that determines this one. Those burned by picking them against the spread this past Saturday might want to keep in mind that the team has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.
Eastern Kentucky’s defeat took them down to 5-4 while Southern California’s victory pulled them up to 8-0. A win for Eastern Kentucky would reverse both their bad luck and Southern California’s good luck. We’ll see if the Colonels manage to pull off that tough task or if the Trojans keep their momentum going instead.
