Florida A&M @ Arizona State
Current Records: Florida A&M 2-9; Arizona State 5-7
What to Know
The Arizona State Sun Devils have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Florida A&M Rattlers at 5 p.m. ET Dec. 21 at Desert Financial Arena. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
ASU was just a bucket shy of a win on Sunday and fell 66-65 to the San Francisco Dons. One thing holding the Sun Devils back was the mediocre play of guard DJ Horne, who did not have his best game: he finished with 15 points on 6-for-18 shooting and turned the ball over four times in his 37 minutes on the court.
Meanwhile, the game between Florida A&M and the Santa Barbara Gauchos on Sunday was not a total blowout, but with the Rattlers falling 73-62 on the road, it was darn close to turning into one.
The losses put ASU at 5-7 and Florida A&M at 2-9. A pair of offensive numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: ASU has only been able to knock down 39.40% percent of their shots, which is the 15th lowest field goal percentage in college basketball. Florida A&M has experienced some struggles of their own as they are 19th worst in college basketball in points per game, with only 62.5 on average. It’s possible one of these Achilles’ heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
