NW State @ No. 1 Baylor
Current Records: NW State 3-10; Baylor 11-0
What to Know
The #1 Baylor Bears will play host again and welcome the NW State Demons to Ferrell Center, where tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday. The Bears are out to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
Baylor simply couldn’t be stopped last week, as they easily beat the Alcorn State Braves at home 94-57. Baylor’s success was spearheaded by the efforts of forward Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua, who had 16 points along with nine boards, and guard Adam Flagler, who had 12 points and five assists in addition to five steals.
Meanwhile, the contest between NW State and the Texas A&M Aggies last Tuesday was not particularly close, with NW State falling 80-61. Guard Carvell Teasett had a pretty forgettable game, playing for 31 minutes with and six turnovers.
Baylor is the favorite in this one, with an expected 38.5-point (!) margin of victory. They are currently five-for-five against the spread in their most recent games, a trend bettors might want to take into account.
The Bears’ victory brought them up to 11-0 while the Demons’ defeat pulled them down to 3-10. A pair of stats to keep an eye on: Baylor enters the matchup with 10.8 steals per game on average, good for fifth best in college basketball. Less enviably, NW State has allowed their opponents an average of 8.9 steals per game, the most in college basketball. In other words, they will need to work extra hard to take care of the ball.
