The Campbell Fighting Camels will finish 2021 at home by hosting the Norfolk State Spartans at 7:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday at John W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center. Neither Campbell nor Norfolk State could muster much offensive firepower in their last games, so look to the defense to decide this one.
It looks like the Fighting Camels must have gotten on Santa’s naughty list since the squad didn’t end up with the win they were expected to receive last Wednesday. They took a 65-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the UNC-Wilmington Seahawks.
Meanwhile, Norfolk State ended up a good deal behind the New Mexico Lobos when they played last week, losing 68-54. Despite the defeat, Norfolk State got a solid performance out of guard Joe Bryant Jr., who had 16 points in addition to six rebounds. Bryant Jr. hadn’t helped his team much against the Wichita State Shockers three weeks ago, so this was a nice turnaround for him.
Campbell is now 7-4 while the Spartans sit at 9-4. The Fighting Camels are 2-1 after losses this season, Norfolk State 1-2.
