NBA DFS: James Harden and top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy basketball picks for Dec. 30, 2021

When Cleveland’s Collin Sexton was lost for the season after tearing the meniscus in his left knee, that gave way to an instant Fantasy boost for Ricky Rubio. That uptick in volume and opportunity was short-lived after Rubio tore the ACL in his left knee on Tuesday; he previously tore his left ACL in his rookie season in 2012. With Darius Garland (health and safety protocols) also out, who is left in the Cavaliers‘ backcourt to include in your NBA DFS lineups on Thursday?

With just four games on the NBA schedule, there isn’t much room for error, but Cleveland’s Isaac Okoro figures to be one of the team’s top options tonight at Washington. Although he had a quiet night in his first game on Tuesday after a three-game absence (protocols), Okoro was averaging 18.5 points per game in his four prior starts. Is Okoro a solid plug-and-play option out of Thursday’s NBA DFS player pool? Before you finalize your NBA DFS picks, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure

McClure is a DFS professional with nearly $2 million in career winnings. He’s also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account.

This allows him to find the best NBA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any NBA DFS player.

On Wednesday, McClure included Pacers guard Caris LeVert as one of his top NBA DFS picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: LeVert scored 27 points to go with seven rebounds, six assists and two steals. His performance returned 49.25 points on DraftKings and 47.4 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, McClure has turned his attention to the Thursday, December 30 NBA DFS slate and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NBA DFS picks for Thursday, December 30

One of McClure’s top Thursday NBA DFS picks is Nets superstar James Harden ($11,100 on DraftKings and FanDuel). After missing four games (protocols), Harden returned to play his best basketball this season over his last two games. In those starts, he’s scored 75 total points, dished out 25 assists, grabbed 18 rebounds and hit half of his shots from the field.

Fellow Nets star Kevin Durant has missed the team’s last three games (protocols), but is expected to play tonight. Regardless, Harden has just been too hot to not be impactful, and he should have another big night in a premier matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers. Harden missed Brooklyn’s last game against Philly, but when the Nets played the Sixers in the second game of the season, he scored 20 points with eight assists and seven rebounds.

Another key in McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Nuggets center Nikola Jokic ($11,900 on DraftKings and $11,700 on FanDuel). Over his last three games, the big man has averaged 25.7 points, 20.7 rebounds, six assists and 2.7 steals per game. Jokic’s player efficiency rating of 32.3 is actually higher than it was last year (31.3) during his MVP season.

Jokic returns to action against a Golden State Warriors side that he just faced on Tuesday. Golden State has been one of the league’s best teams at limiting opponent points in the paint and three-pointers, and Jokic’s stat line from the last game reflects as much. However, he still scored 22 points and secured 19 rebounds, which daily Fantasy players would be happy to see from him again on Thursday.
