Through 1 Quarter
The Memphis Grizzlies are ahead after one, as expected, but they’ll have to keep working the rest of the way. After one quarter neither squad has the matchup in the bag, but the Grizzlies lead 35-29 over the San Antonio Spurs. Memphis’ offense has come from several players so far.

What to Know
The San Antonio Spurs haven’t won a game against the Memphis Grizzlies since Dec. 23 of 2020, but they’ll be looking to end the drought on Friday. San Antonio will take on Memphis at 8 p.m. ET at FedExForum after having had a few days off. The Grizzlies will be strutting in after a victory while the Spurs will be stumbling in from a defeat.
San Antonio was within striking distance but couldn’t close the gap on Monday as they fell 110-104 to the Utah Jazz. A silver lining for San Antonio was the play of shooting guard Derrick White, who had 21 points and eight assists.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn’t a dominant performance, the Grizz beat the Los Angeles Lakers 104-99 on Wednesday. Memphis’ point guard Ja Morant did his thing and shot 6-for-7 from beyond the arc and finished with a double-double on 41 points and ten rebounds.
The Spurs are expected to lose this next one by 5.5. They are currently four-for-four against the spread in their most recent games, however, a trend bettors might want to take into account.
It was close but no cigar for San Antonio as they fell 100-96 to the Grizzlies when the two teams previously met in May of last year. The loss knocked San Antonio out of the playoffs, so expect them to come at Memphis with a vengeful fire.
