What you need to know about the Thunder

Oklahoma City won four games in a five-game stretch last week, but it has now lost consecutive games. The Thunder came up short on the road against Sacramento on Tuesday and followed it up with a 115-97 defeat against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday. Small forward Luguentz Dort did not have his best showing, finishing with only nine points on 3-for-18 shooting in 35 minutes.

The Thunder are without head coach Mark Daigneault, who entered the league’s health and safety protocol. They could be without their best player as well, as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander missed Wednesday’s game with right ankle soreness and is questionable for Friday. However, rookie guard Aaron Wiggins is averaging 20 points and 6.3 rebounds over his last three outings. OKC will be missing Darius Bazley, Josh Giddey and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl due to health and safety protocols.

What you need to know about the Knicks

New York is coming into this game on a three-game winning streak that includes victories over Atlanta, Minnesota and Detroit. The Knicks got past the Pistons in a 94-85 final on Wednesday, led by a season-high 34 points from Alec Burks. Leading scorer Julius Randle was held to just five points on 2 of 11 shooting.

Burks will need to step up again on Friday night, as Randle has now entered the health and safety protocol. The Knicks have most of their roster available, though, as Nerlens Noel (protocols) and Derrick Rose (ankle) are the only other key contributors absent, though Evan Fournier (ankle) is questionable. They will also be without assistant coach Johnnie Bryant, who is also in the protocol.
