What you need to know about the Bulls

The Bulls outlasted the Orlando Magic on Monday, 102-98 as DeMar DeRozan (29 points) and Zach LaVine (27 points) were the top scorers for Chicago. The Bulls are 15 games over .500 for the first time since March of 2015. They have also won eight straight games for the first time since February and March of 2012.

DeRozan hit a game-winning three-pointer in a 120-119 win over the Wizards on Jan. 1. DeRozan (26.9 PPG) and LaVine (26.3) are the only pair of teammate averaging at least 25 points per game. Alex Caruso (health and safety protocols) is out for Friday’s game as is Javonte Green (adductor).

What you need to know about the Wizards

After starting the year 12-7 through their first 19 games, the Wizards are the inverse at 7-12 through their last 19 games. Despite their record putting them in ninth place in the East, their average point differential of -2.2 is 13th in the conference. Davis Bertans (foot) is listed as doubtful, while Montrezl Harrell (health and safety protocols) is questionable for Friday. Out for Washington are Rui Hachimura (reconditioning), Thomas Bryant (knee) and Brad Wanamaker (protocols).
