2021 NFL playoff picture, standings: 49ers nab last spot in NFC; Steelers await Chargers-Raiders result

The longest season in NFL history is coming to a close, with a  crazy slate of games in Week 18. The Indianapolis Colts are eliminated from the playoffs after losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Pittsburgh Steelers beating the Baltimore Ravens in overtime. Pittsburgh makes the playoffs if the Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders don’t tie on Sunday night.

If the Chargers and Raiders tie, both teams make the playoffs and the Steelers are out. The San Francisco 49ers clinched a playoff berth with an overtime win over the Los Angeles Rams, eliminating the New Orleans Saints (who won their game to put pressure on the 49ers). The Rams clinched the NFC West with the Arizona Cardinals’ loss.

Below, you can find a conference breakdown of the current standings, how each club performed in Week 18 and its playoff matchup and draft pick selection (for the teams eliminated from the playoffs).
