The Florida Atlantic Owls’ road trip will continue as they head to Bartow Arena at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday to face off against the UAB Blazers. UAB should still be feeling good after a big victory, while the Owls will be looking to regain their footing.
The contest between Florida Atlantic and the Middle Tenn. Blue Raiders on Thursday was not a total blowout, but with Florida Atlantic falling 70-57 on the road, it was darn close to turning into one. Guard Michael Forrest had a pretty forgettable game, finishing with only three points on 1-for-11 shooting in his 25 minutes on the court.
Meanwhile, the Florida International Panthers typically have all the answers at home, but on Thursday UAB proved too difficult a challenge. UAB took their game against the Panthers by a conclusive 84-56 score. The margin was wide but not a surprise since the spread was 16.5 points in the Blazers’ favor. Their success was spearheaded by the efforts of forward KJ Buffen, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards in addition to three blocks, and guard Jordan Walker, who shot 6-for-14 from beyond the arc and finished with 20 points.
The Owls are now 8-7 while UAB sits at 14-4. UAB is 9-4 after wins this season, and Florida Atlantic is 5-1 after losses.
