2022 Fantasy Football Dynasty Tight End Rankings: Plenty of young tight ends behind Kyle Pitts

There’s only one tight end whose ranking has remained unchanged since the beginning of the 2021 season. It’s the guy at the top, Kyle Pitts

While Pitts did not live up to his redraft ADP, his rookie season could not have been much more encouraging. He posted the second most receiving yards for a rookie tight end ever, and the most in the Super Bowl era. Pitts did this as the No. 1 option on a pretty terrible Falcons offense and still averaged a very impressive 9.3 yards per target.

Pitts is still just 21 years old and could legitimately be the No. 1 tight end in redraft as soon as next year. But as impressive as he is, there’s still plenty of youth coming up behind him.

Cole Kmet, Pat Freiermuth, and Brevin Jordan all rank in my top-15 tight ends and will all still be 23 or younger when the 2022 season begins. I would expect Freiermuth to be the clear favorite in most people’s minds, but I slightly prefer Kmet.

Part of that is because I’m always skeptical of touchdown rates like Freiermuth just produced, but it’s also just that I like Kmet more. Kmet is the bigger, stronger, and faster tight end and his quarterback situation is more settled as well. Freiermuth’s best quality, the trust of Ben Roethlisberger in the red zone, may not even translate to whoever plays quarterback for the Steelers in 2022.

Of course, since virtually everyone else prefers Freiermuth, Kmet is one of my favorite buys this offseason. And Jordan isn’t far behind.

Below are my updated Dynasty tight end rankings. These rankings are for PPR leagues and try to blend the values for contenders versus rebuilders. The age you see listed for each player is their age as of Week 1 of the 2022 season.
