Who’s Playing
North Florida @ Florida State
Current Records: North Florida 4-14; Florida State 11-5
What to Know
The Florida State Seminoles have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the North Florida Ospreys at noon ET Jan. 20 at Donald L. Tucker Center. The Seminoles are out to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
FSU escaped with a win on Tuesday against the Duke Blue Devils by the margin of a single free throw, 79-78. Guard Caleb Mills (18 points) was the top scorer for FSU.
Speaking of close games: North Florida was close but no cigar on Monday as they fell 62-60 to the Kennesaw State Owls.
FSU’s win brought them up to 11-5 while North Florida’s loss pulled them down to 4-14. A pair of numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: The Seminoles rank 14th in college basketball when it comes to steals per game, with 9.6 on average. Less enviably, the Ospreys have allowed their opponents an average of 8.6 steals per game, the most in college basketball. In other words, they will need to work extra hard to take care of the ball.
