The Wizards had enough points to win and then some against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday, taking their contest 117-98. Center Montrezl Harrell (18 points) was the top scorer for Washington.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn came up short against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday, falling 114-107. Brooklyn’s defeat shouldn’t obscure the performances of point guard Kyrie Irving, who had 27 points and nine assists along with seven rebounds, and point guard James Harden, who posted a double-double on 22 points and ten dimes in addition to seven boards.
Barring any buzzer beaters, Washington is expected to win a tight contest. But bettors beware: they are only 7-14 against the spread when favored.
