UFC is ready to deliver its first two title fights of the new year and both carry equal amounts of intrigue and high drama. It all goes down from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, on Saturday night when the heavyweights and flyweights tip the marquee. In the main event, heavyweight king Francis Ngannou looks to defend his crown against interim titleholder Ciryl Gane in a battle of former training partners turned rivals. Plus, 125-pound champ Brandon Moreno looks to wrap up his trilogy with Deiveson Figuieredo with a successful title defense.

Ngannou and his war of words with UFC president Dana White have gotten all the attention in the buildup to this bout. The native of Camerron is hoping to receive an increase in his salary after fighting out his contract on Saturday night, but UFC is apparently unwilling to budge.

Plus, the underlying theme in this massive matchup is Gane is trained by Ngannou’s former coach in Fernand Lopez, and the two trained and sparred together for a brief time. Both have differing opinions of how those sessions went, but it won’t matter once the cage door is closed on Saturday night in California.

Meanwhile, Moreno and Figueiredo could provide some high drama in their third meeting in the span of 15 months. Figueiredo retained his title in the first meeting — a fight put together on just three weeks’ notice — when the judges declared the fight a draw thanks to illegal low blows. But Moreno got his revenge last June when he secured a rear-naked choke to become the first Mexican-born champion in UFC history.

With the omicron variant of COVID-19 still wreaking havoc, the fight card has undergone many changes in the weeks leading up. Below is the current fight card with the latest odds from Caesars Sportsbook. Be sure to check in for all the latest updates and adjustments.
