After just a four-game night on Monday, NBA DFS players will be treated to a more robust slate of games on Tuesday with 18 teams in action. The headliner on the schedule will see the Brooklyn Nets host the Los Angeles Lakers at 8:30 p.m. ET. After missing 17 games with a knee injury, Anthony Davis (probable) is expected to return to the court to face a Nets team without Kevin Durant (knee) and Kyrie Irving (ineligible to play). Can a returning Davis take advantage of an undermanned Nets lineup and be one of Tuesday’s top NBA DFS picks?
Davis hasn’t faced the Nets in nearly two years, but he threw up 26 points, eight rebounds and a career-high of four 3Ps the last time he saw them. Should you expect similar production if you were to roster him on sites like FanDuel or DraftKings? Before finalizing your NBA DFS picks for Tuesday, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.
McClure is a DFS professional with nearly $2 million in career winnings. He’s also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account.
This allows him to find the best NBA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any NBA DFS player.
On Monday, McClure included Pelicans center Jonas Valanciunas as one of his top NBA DFS picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: Valanciunas finished with 16 points, 12 rebounds and six assists to return 42 points on DraftKings and 39.4 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.
Now, McClure has turned his attention to the Tuesday, January 25, NBA DFS slate and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.
Top NBA DFS picks for Tuesday, January 25
One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Tuesday is Spurs guard Dejounte Murray, who is listed at $10,000 on DraftKings and $10,300 on FanDuel. Murray just missed picking up a triple-double for the third straight game in Sunday’s loss to the Sixers. Murray has 19 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds after posting triple-doubles in back-to-back games last week.
The 25-year-old filling up the box score is nothing new as he’s been doing it all season. He ranks second in the league with nine triple-doubles and is averaging 19.3 points, 9.0 assists, 8.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. All of those are career-highs and Murray has an ideal matchup vs. Houston on Tuesday. The Rockets have allowed the most Fantasy points to opposing point guards on both DraftKings and FanDuel, so he’s a must-start tonight.
Another key in McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering 76ers swingman Furkan Korkmaz ($4,500 on DraftKings and $4,400 on FanDuel). Korkmaz is coming off a 17-point, four-rebound, three-assist game and should see increased playing time on Tuesday with both Seth Curry and Danny Green out.
The Sixers welcome the Pelicans to Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday and Korkmaz lit up the Pels when he last saw them. That came in the first game of the season as Korkmaz put up 22 points and five assists while going a perfect 4-for-4 from beyond the arc. With Philly being shorthanded tonight, Korkmaz should log lots of minutes and he’s proven to be productive when his playing time is increased. He’s averaging 13.8 PPG when playing at least 30 minutes per game, which he’s done the last two games that both Curry and Green have missed.
