What you need to know about the Nuggets

Denver held a 16-point lead in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against Detroit, but a late rally forced the Nuggets to hold on at the end. Nikola Jokic hit four free throws in the final minute of the contest to ice the game away. He finished the game with 34 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

Jokic is averaging 26.1 points, 13.8 rebounds and 7.6 assists per game. Center DeMarcus Cousins, who was signed to a 10-day contract on Friday, had six rebounds in 12 minutes of action on Sunday. Denver has won five of its last six games against Detroit.

What you need to know about the Pistons

The Pistons, who shot 56.0 percent from the floor, were unable to overcome 22 turnovers in the end. They are now returning home after a four-game road trip to the West Coast, going 1-3 in those games.

Leading scorer Jerami Grant, who is averaging 20.1 points per game, returned from a rehab assignment on Monday. However, he is going to remain out on Tuesday due to the league’s health and safety protocol. The Pistons have covered the spread in four of their last five home games.
