The Tulsa Golden Hurricane lost both of their matches to the Tulane Green Wave last season on scores of 48-58 and 70-77, so they’re hoping to turn the tables this season. Tulsa and Tulane will face off in an American Athletic battle at 9 p.m. ET Wednesday at Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse. Both teams are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.
It was close but no cigar for the Golden Hurricane as they fell 83-81 to the Memphis Tigers on Sunday. Despite the defeat, Tulsa got a solid performance out of forward Jeriah Horne, who had 19 points in addition to seven rebounds.
Speaking of close games: Tulane was close but no cigar this past Saturday as they fell 68-66 to the UCF Knights. The loss was just more heartbreak for Tulane, who has now lost three close ones in a row against UCF. Guard Jaylen Forbes (17 points) and guard Jalen Cook (16 points) were the top scorers for the Green Wave.
The Golden Hurricane are expected to win this handily, but they should have beaten the Air Force Falcons Nov. 13 easily too and instead slipped up with a 59-58. In other words, don’t count Tulane out just yet.
