Concacaf World Cup qualifying picks for Panama vs. Costa Rica

Before you tune in to Thursday’s Concacaf World Cup qualifier, you need to see the Costa Rica vs. Panama picks from SportsLine’s soccer insider Brandt Sutton. Sutton, a former collegiate soccer player, has been SportsLine’s top soccer editor for nearly five years. He has followed soccer closely for much longer and factors in managerial tactics, projected lineups and past performances to make the most-informed decisions possible, keeping his finger on the pulse of the game all over the globe.

Sutton has also been on a roll with his best bets, going 17-10 and returning over $700 for $100 bettors who have followed his soccer picks.

For Costa Rica vs. Panama, Sutton is betting under 0.5 goals will be scored in the first half at +115 odds. These two teams split the points in their last head-to-head meeting, a scoreless draw back in September. Neither team did much offensively in that matchup, as the two teams combined for just two shots on target.

“The Panamanians held Costa Rica without a single shot on target in September and I believe they’ll go with the same defensive game plan on the road, especially in the first half,” Sutton told SportsLine. “In addition, Panama has scored five goals in its last two qualifying matches, and all five have been after halftime.”
