Tarleton State @ Lamar
Current Records: Tarleton State 8-13; Lamar 2-17
What to Know
After a two-game homestand, the Tarleton State Texans will be on the road. Tarleton State and the Lamar Cardinals will face off in a WAC battle at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday at Montagne Center. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they’ll have plenty of motivation to get the ‘W.’
The Texans came up short against the Seattle Redhawks on Saturday, falling 76-68.
Meanwhile, the game between Lamar and the Utah Valley Wolverines on Saturday was not a total blowout, but with Lamar falling 58-41 on the road, it was darn close to turning into one.
Tarleton State is the favorite in this one, with an expected 7-point margin of victory. They have failed bettors playing the spread in their past four games, so buyers beware.
The losses put Tarleton State at 8-13 and the Cardinals at 2-17. A couple offensive numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: The Texans are 35th worst in college basketball in points per game, with only 65.1 on average. Lamars have had an even harder time: they are stumbling into the contest with the fifth fewest points per game in college basketball, having accrued only 61.7 on average. It’s possible one of these Achilles’ heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
