What you need to know about the Rockets

Houston put together a decent five-game road trip last week, finishing with a 3-2 record. The Rockets had three days off after returning home, but they came out sluggish in a 134-104 loss to San Antonio on Tuesday night. They have now lost nine consecutive home games.

The Rockets struggled against the Spurs defensively, allowing San Antonio to shoot 57.4 percent from the floor and score 82 points in the paint. Center Christian Wood leads Houston with 17.4 points and is completing his double-double average with 10.2 rebounds. Despite the loss to San Antonio, the Rockets have covered the spread in four of their last six games.

What you need to know about the Trail Blazers

Portland had some momentum last week as well, recording consecutive wins over Boston and Toronto on the road. The Trail Blazers were unable to build on that momentum, losing home games to Minnesota and Dallas earlier this week. They gave up 40 first-quarter points to the Mavericks, which wound up being too much to recover from.

Portland was without six rotation players in that game, including star guard Damian Lillard. Forwards Nassir Little (shoulder) and Robert Covington (knee) were added to the list of injured players earlier this week. The Trail Blazers have covered the spread in five of their last seven games, including four of their last five road games.
