The Minnesota Golden Gophers have enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they must head out on the road. Minnesota and the #11 Wisconsin Badgers will face off in a Big Ten battle at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at Kohl Center. The Golden Gophers have some work to do to even out the 2-7 series between these two since March of 2016, but a win here would be a good start.
The contest between Minnesota and the Ohio State Buckeyes on Thursday was not a total blowout, but with Minnesota falling 75-64 at home, it was darn close to turning into one. Minnesota’s defeat came about despite a quality game from guard Payton Willis, who had 12 points and seven assists.
Meanwhile, Wisconsin beat the Nebraska Cornhuskers 73-65 on Thursday. Four players on Wisconsin scored in the double digits: guard Brad Davison (21), guard Jonathan Davis (13), guard Chucky Hepburn (13), and forward Steven Crowl (12).
The Golden Gophers are now 11-6 while the Badgers sit at 16-3. Wisconsin is 12-3 after wins this year, and Minnesota is 2-3 after losses.
