What to Know
The Tulane Green Wave haven’t won a game against the #14 Houston Cougars since Jan. 17 of 2018, but they’ll be looking to end the drought on Wednesday. The Green Wave and Houston will face off in an American Athletic battle at 8 p.m. ET at Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse. Tulane is out to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
Tulane had enough points to win and then some against the South Florida Bulls last week, taking their matchup 76-57. Tulane got double-digit scores from four players: guard Jaylen Forbes (22), forward Kevin Cross (19), guard Jadan Coleman (16), and guard Jalen Cook (13).
Meanwhile, Houston sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 76-74 win over the Wichita State Shockers on Sunday. The Cougars can attribute much of their success to forward Josh Carlton, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds.
The Green Wave are expected to lose this next one by 9.5. However, those who like betting on the underdog should be happy to hear that they are 6-3 against the spread when expected to lose.
Their wins bumped Tulane to 12-11 and Houston to 22-4. In Tulane’s victory, Jaylen Forbes had 22 points and Kevin Cross had 19 points along with eight boards. We’ll see if Houston have a strategy for dealing with them or if they lead their team to another successful outing.
