What you need to know about the Trail Blazers

It’s hard to picture a worse loss than the 123-85 bruising that Rip City suffered against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday. Portland was in a bad position by the half, with the score already sitting at 63-35. Guard Brandon Williams had a tough game, finishing with only nine points on 3-for-13 shooting and turning the ball over four times in his 26 minutes on the court.

Five of Portland’s last six losses have come by 30 or more points, so it’s been tough sledding for the Blazers without Damian Lillard abdomen), Anfernee Simons (knee), Jusuf Nurkic (foot) and others in recent weeks.

What you need to know about the Wizards

Meanwhile, the Wizards received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 122-109 to the Los Angeles Lakers. The top scorers for Washington were power forward Kyle Kuzma (23 points) and shooting guard Corey Kispert (21 points).

Bradley Beal (wrist) is out for the year, leaving much of the scoring load to Kuzma. The Wizards did, however, add Kristaps Porzingis at the deadline, but he’s expected to sit this one out (rest).
