Torino almost upset Inter Milan on Sunday, but Alexis Sanchez scored in added time and gave Simone Inzaghi’s side a 1-1 draw in what was a disappointing performance by the Nerazzurri. The favorites struggled, especially in the first half, while they created more in the second half but could not deliver enough to take all three points, blowing an opportunity to boost their title chances. AC Milan are now Serie A leaders, with Napoli are three points behind and with Inter Milan four points behind but with one game in hand. The Scudetto race is more exciting than ever with the top four separated by seven points.

Here’s what to know:

Serie A scores

  • Fiorentina 1, Bologna 0
  • Napoli 2, Hellas Verona 1
  • Atalanta 0, Genoa 0
  • Udinese 1, Roma 1
  • Torino 1, Inter 1

Alexis Sanchez saves Inter

It seemed set to be a disappointing night for Inter Milan, and it partially was until Alexis Sanchez scored the equalizer in the last minutes of the match. Torino were much better in the first half and scored the opening goal of the game via Bremer and then had few chances to score the second goal but could not manage. Torino fans and coach Ivan Juric were also claiming for a penalty on captain Andrea Belotti, but both referee and VAR decided to not award it, with substitute Sanchez coming to the rescue late.

Osimhen on fire

Victor Osimhen’s brace gave Napoli an important win against Hellas Verona on the road. The Nigerian striker scored has scored nine goals overall during the Serie A season, and his team is currently only three points behind AC Milan. Hellas Verona scored a late goal with Davide Faraoni but Napoli kept the ball and the control of the game that led Spalletti’s team to a crucial win.

Best of the rest

Elsewhere Fiorentina won after a difficult match against Bologna at home with a goal scored by former Arsenal player Lucas Torreira, as they continue to fight for a European spot. Atalanta drew against Genoa at home in a match that somehow had no goals, while Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma almost lost against Udinese, but captain Lorenzo Pellegrini’s late goal gave to the Portuguese coach an unexpected draw.
