Stanford and Texas face-off for a Final Four berth in Spokane

The Spokane Region now has its regional final set, and its a rematch four and a half months in the making. After winning the national championship last season and hanging up a banner on opening night with a comfortable in over Morgan State, the Stanford Cardinal welcomed a ranked opponent from a power conference to The Farm for game No. 2, and it did not go well for them. It did, however, go well for the then-No. 25 ranked Texas Longhorns who came away with one of the signature victories of the 2021-22 season in a 61-56 win over Stanford.

Both teams have been lights out since then, winning their conference tournaments and blasting their way to the Elite Eight where they’ll meet with extremely high stakes. Texas is looking to end a nearly 20-year Final Four drought — the Longhorns last reached a national semifinal in 2003. On the other bench, Stanford is looking to join USC, Tennessee and UConn as the only women’s programs to win back-to-back national titles in the 40-year history of this tournament, and to do that, the Cardinal will have to avenge their only home loss of the season.

All of the 2022 Women’s NCAA Tournament games will air on the ESPN family of networks, and you can stream every game on fuboTV (try for free).

Now, here’s a look at the two teams left to face of in the 2022 Spokane Regional final, with the opportunity to go the to Final Four in Minneapolis and play for a national championship.
