Why the Cavaliers can cover

Darius Garland is a shifty, quick guard in the backcourt for Cleveland. Garland has an all-around offensive game and is fearless when attacking the lane. The 2019 fifth overall pick is sixth in the NBA in assists (8.7) along with 21.7 points and 3.4 rebounds. He also shoots 38 percent from 3-point land. Garland has recorded two double-doubles over his past three games. In his last contest, the Vanderbilt product finished with 27 points, six rebounds and 10 assists.

Guard Caris LeVert is an instinctive and versatile piece for Cleveland. LeVert is an athletic force who creates his own offense but also can set his teammates up. The Michigan product averages 17.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. LeVert has the strength to play through contact down low. On April 2, he produced 19 points, six rebounds and six assists.

Why the Nets can cover

Forward Kevin Durant can do it all on the court. He consistently drives down the lane, finishing through contact but has a sweet stroke from mid-range and 3-point land. The two-time NBA champion is also a solid rebounder and passer. He logs 29.9 points, 7.4 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game. Durant has scored 30-plus in three of his last five games. In his last outing, he recorded a triple-double, finishing with 32 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

Guard Seth Curry (probable, ankle) is a knock-down shooter on the outside for Brooklyn. Curry knows how to create space and get open from deep. The Duke product has a quick release and shoots the basketball with confidence. Curry averages 15 points, 3.6 assists and shoots 42 percent from downtown. He’s scored 15-plus with at least three 3-pointers in back-to-back games. On March 31, Curry dropped 16 points, three rebounds and went 4-for-8 from deep.
