WATCH: Spieth asks, ‘What would Arnie do,’ then hits incredible shot from needles

Jordan Spieth put together a fantastic round on Saturday to get himself back in contention heading into Sunday’s final round of the Masters. Spieth, who at one point was 10 shots off the lead, posted a 4-under 68 on Saturday on the back of 29 consecutive bogey-free holes dating back to Friday, but he needed to get himself out of some trouble.

Spieth put his tee shot on the par-5 13th hole onto the pine needles, leaving himself 230 yards to the green off the rough surface. While discussing the approach with his caddie, Spieth gave golf fans all of the emotions.

“What would Arnie do?” Spieth asked.

His caddie, Michael Greller, responded: “Hit it to 20 feet.”

Spieth proceeded to knock his shot 29 feet from the hole, leaving himself a great birdie opportunity in an amazing moment that golf fans won’t soon forget.

For a fourth straight year, Spieth will be in contention on Sunday. He’s ready for the test that awaits in 24 hours.

“I recognize on this golf course now, after contending on Sunday a few years in a row, that you often don’t need as low as you think. I say that but you never know. There are some studs at the top of the leaderboard and some guys who are not afraid to take chances,” Spieth told Dottie Pepper on the CBS broadcast.

“That’s what you can’t be afraid to do out here. You got to play like Arnold Palmer out here, you got to really hit the shots necessary to give yourself the best chance at birdies. Something like today’s round and then maybe finish it off a little bit better, and it might be enough.”
