The 2022 MLB season continues on Tuesday and daily Fantasy baseball players who like to target totals will be happy to see a couple of games where the over-under is at 10 runs or higher. Cubs vs. Padres at 8:05 p.m. ET currently has an over-under of 10 runs, per Caesars Sportsbook, while Rockies vs. Guardians has its total set at 10.5. With Vegas expecting plenty of scoring from both of those games, it might be a solid strategy to build your MLB DFS stacks from those games.
Of course, with a full slate of action, there are plenty of advantageous matchups to play on Tuesday. But where in the MLB DFS player pool should you be looking? Stars like Aaron Judge, Ronald Acuna, Bryce Harper and Rafael Devers all have incredible upside but also come with price tags that mean you’ll have to find more affordable options to balance your MLB DFS lineups. Before you make your MLB DFS picks for Tuesday, be sure to check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure.
McClure is a daily Fantasy pro who has won almost $2 million in his career. And when it comes to daily Fantasy baseball, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book “Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune” as a top MLB DFS player, McClure’s proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.
On Monday, he highlighted Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson in his MLB DFS player pool on both FanDuel and DraftKings. The result: Swanson went 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBI to return 23 points on DraftKings and 32.3 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.
Now, as the 2022 MLB season continues, McClure has locked in his top MLB daily Fantasy picks for Tuesday, June 14. Head to SportsLine now to see them.
McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Tuesday, June 14, 2022
One of McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Tuesday is Blue Jays outfielder George Springer, who is listed at $5,300 on DraftKings and $3,700 on FanDuel. Now in his ninth MLB season, Springer’s consistency throughout his career has been impressive and since joining the Blue Jays on a six-year, $150 million contract last season, he’s been extremely productive when he’s been in the lineup.
Over 134 games with the Blue Jays thus far, he’s slashing .272/.351/.543 with 34 home runs, 83 RBI and eight stolen bases. Springer enters Tuesday’s contest against the Orioles on a five-game hitting streak where he’s gone 9-for-22 with a home run, two doubles, three RBI and five runs scored.
Another part of McClure’s optimal MLB DFS strategy includes rostering Padres first baseman Eric Hosmer ($2,600 on DraftKings and $2,400 on FanDuel). Since breaking into the MLB in 2011 with the Royals, Hosmer has shown strong bat-to-ball skills with average power for his position that plays up significantly against right-handed pitching.
Of the 192 home runs in Hosmer’s career, 150 have come against righties and his .815 OPS is 149 points higher than it is against left-handed pitching. On Tuesday, he’ll take on Cubs righty Kyle Hendricks, who has already surrendered 11 home runs this season and is sporting a career-worst 5.22 ERA. Hosmer has a home run off Hendricks in 20 career plate appearances against him.
