MLB DFS: Top DraftKings and FanDuel daily Fantasy baseball picks, lineup advice for Wednesday, June 15, 2022

The Pittsburgh Pirates currently lead a trio of teams that also includes Chicago and Cincinnati at the bottom of the National League Central, and the three are separated by just a game-and-a-half. Pittsburgh is 11.5 games behind division-leading St. Louis, and the two play on Wednesday with a few interesting prospects for MLB DFS lineups. The Pirates are expected to start 22-year-old pitcher Roansy Contreras, who has pitched his way into the rotation and given up just five runs over his four starts this season.

The two clubs played a doubleheader on Tuesday, in which Albert Pujols manned first base for the Cardinals in Game 1. In the twilight of his career, he is primarily a designated hitter, but he has five hits in his last six games. So, is either Pujols or Contreras worth a look in the MLB DFS player pool on Wednesday? Before you make your MLB DFS picks, be sure to check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure.

McClure is a daily Fantasy pro who has won almost $2 million in his career. And when it comes to daily Fantasy baseball, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book “Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune” as a top MLB DFS player, McClure’s proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.

On Tuesday, he highlighted Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez in his MLB DFS player pool on both FanDuel and DraftKings. The result: Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI to return 23 points on DraftKings and 31.7 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, as the 2022 MLB season continues, McClure has locked in his top MLB daily Fantasy picks for Wednesday, June 15. Head to SportsLine now to see them

McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Wednesday, June 15, 2022

Ramirez is one of McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Wednesday as well and is listed at $6,000 on DraftKings and $4,600 on FanDuel. In six games over the last week, Ramirez has 10 total hits with six doubles, two home runs and nine RBI. For the season, Ramirez leads the majors in at-bats per strikeout, with 12.5, as well as runs batted in with 62.

Cleveland continues its series at Colorado on Wednesday and starting pitcher Austin Gomber. Gomber has allowed 19 runs over his last three games, and six extra-base hits in his last four starts. Ramirez hasn’t been as efficient against left-handed pitchers like Gomber, but he’s still been productive. Against lefty starters, he has offensive splits of .290/.364/.638 with 20 RBI and five home runs.

Another part of McClure’s optimal MLB DFS strategy includes rostering Blue Jays outfielder George Springer ($5,700 on DraftKings and $3,800 on FanDuel). Springer was hitless in Toronto’s loss to Baltimore on Tuesday, but in the five games before that, had nine hits, two doubles, a home run and three RBI. For the season, he has 13 extra-base hits, 12 homers and 33 runs batted in.

Toronto continues its series against the Orioles on Wednesday and starting pitcher Bruce Zimmermann, who is 1-4 with a 6.89 ERA in road games this season. Springer hit a home run against Zimmermann in his only at bat against him last year. Against left-handed pitchers like Zimmermann, Springer has offensive splits of .314/.432/.571 this season, with 11 hits and seven runs in 35 total at bats.
