2022 MLB odds, picks, bets for Monday, July 4 from proven model: This Fourth of July four-way parlay pays 14-1

Two teams with their eyes on first place in their respective divisions begin a four-game showdown when the Atlanta Braves host the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday. Atlanta (46-34) occupies second place in the National League East, sitting 3.5 games behind the New York Mets after suffering a 4-3 loss at Cincinnati on Sunday. The Cardinals (44-37) sit in a similar spot in the NL Central as they trail first-place Milwaukee by two games following a 4-0 setback at Philadelphia. Atlanta is a -178 money-line favorite in the latest Braves vs. Cardinals odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while St. Louis is a +150 underdog.

First pitch at Truist Park is set for 7:20 p.m. ET. The game is one of 10 on the MLB schedule for Monday evening. Other matchups include the AL Central-best Minnesota Twins visiting the Chicago White Sox and the NL West-leading Los Angeles Dodgers hosting the Colorado Rockies. The model, which simulated every game on Monday’s schedule 10,000 times, is taking the Rockies (+1.5 at +115) to cover against the Dodgers. Colorado is one of the few major league teams with which Los Angeles has struggled this season, winning four of their six meetings thus far. The Rockies have won four of their last six overall contests, with two of the triumphs coming against the Dodgers.

C.J. Cron has been red-hot at the plate for Colorado, going 11-for-32 with 12 RBI during his eight-game hitting streak. The 32-year-old first baseman, who is third in the majors with 64 RBI, belted a pair of three-run homers Sunday as the Rockies posted a 6-5 victory against Arizona after allowing the game’s first five runs. Cron also has had considerable success versus Los Angeles left-hander Julio Urias during his career, going 7-for-17 with two blasts and 10 RBI.
