NBA In-Season Tournament bracket, schedule: Pacers top Celtics to advance to semifinals

The NBA In-Season Tournament has seen its first knockout game. The Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics battled down the stretch in the tournament’s first quarterfinal Monday night, but in the end it was home team Pacers earning the 122-112 victory and advancing to Thursday’s East semifinal against either the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks or the conference’s wild card New York Knicks who’ll face each other on Tuesday.

Tyrese Haliburton notched his first triple double (26 points, 10 rebounds, 13 assists) of his career. With the score knotted at 105, Haliburton converted a four-play with 93 second left in the game to put Pacers up for good. “The atmosphere was crazy,” said Hailburton, who’ll lead his squad into Las Vegas. “We’re excited to be there, but we want to win.”

In the first West quarterfinal, the Sacramento Kings will host the New Orleans Pelicans. The winner of that game will face the winner of Tuesday’s matchup between the conference wild card Phoenix Suns and the top-seeded Lakers in Los Angeles. The West semifinal will also be in Las Vegas on Thursday.

The In-Season Tournament culminates in Saturday’s championship. The title game will not count toward the league’s 82-game regular season standings.
