PGA Championship 2024 props, golf odds: Expert unveils PGA Tour prop bets, parlay picks, matchups for Valhalla

Scottie Scheffler is the World No. 1 and coming off a Masters victory as we march towards the 2024 PGA Championship on Thursday. While Scheffler is the 3-1 favorite in the latest 2024 PGA Championship odds, one should take notice of how he fared the last time he was coming off a major win. Scheffler won the 2022 Masters, but then missed the cut just weeks later at that year’s PGA Championship. Still, predicting a missed cut for Scheffler, or any of the top players such as Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka and Jon Rahm, could be one of the riskiest 2024 PGA Championship prop bets. McIlroy won this major the last time it took place at Valhalla Golf Club, and the Irishman is coming off back-to-back victories this season.

If missing the cut for McIlroy isn’t on your radar for 2024 PGA Championship props, should you back him with a top-10 finish, a top-5 finish, or even better? Before locking in your 2024 PGA Championship prop picks or entering PGA Championship picks, you need to see what SportsLine DFS pro and PGA expert Mike McClure has to say

McClure is a DFS legend with over $2 million in career winnings, and he’s been red-hot on his PGA picks dating back to the PGA Tour restart in June of 2020. McClure uses his proprietary simulation model to analyze the field and crush his golf picks. He is up almost $9,000 on his best bets since the restart.

McClure’s model predicted Scottie Scheffler would finish on top of the leaderboard at the 2024 Masters, the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players Championship this season. McClure also included Hideki Matsuyama in his best bets to win the 2024 Genesis Invitational. That bet hit at +9000, and for the entire tournament, McClure’s best bets returned nearly $1,000.

The model also predicted Jon Rahm would be victorious at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express. At the 2023 Masters, the model was all over Rahm’s second career major victory heading into the weekend. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the third round, but the model still projected him as the winner. It was the second straight Masters win for the model, which also nailed Scheffler winning in 2022.

In addition, McClure’s best bets included Nick Taylor (70-1) winning the 2023 RBC Canadian Open, Jason Day (17-1) winning outright at the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson, and Rickie Fowler (14-1) finishing on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic. This same model has also nailed a whopping 11 majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed McClure’s picks has seen massive returns.

Now, McClure has dialed in on the PGA Championship golf tournament and just locked in his top prop picks and PGA predictions. You can only see McClure’s PGA Championship 2024 prop picks at SportsLine.

Top 2024 PGA Championship prop picks

We can tell you that one of McClure’s favorite PGA Championship prop picks is that Tony Finau has a better finish than Sam Burns at +100 odds. From a yardage and greens standpoint, Torrey Pines’ South Course is one of the closest comps to Valhalla. The former hosts the Farmers Insurance Open, where Finau has six top 10s over his last eight starts. Meanwhile, Burns has never finished better than 18th across five starts at that course.

Both Valhalla and Torrey Pines require precision to land on their small greens, and Finau ranks 16th on tour this season in greens in regulation percentage, while Burns is just 77th. The latter also has a history of underperforming at majors as Burns has just one top 25 across 15 major starts. He’s missed the cut in three of his last four major starts, so McClure likes the plus-money prop odds of Finau finishing better than Burns. You can see who else to back at SportsLine.
