In his first season as the starting quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles, Jalen Hurts‘ success in leading Philly to the door of the playoffs has been in large part thanks to an elite offensive line. In Week 17’s victory over the Washington Football Team, the Eagles only allowed Hurts to be sacked a single time. But after the game, Hurts had an extremely close call when a mass of humanity collapsed right near him.

After the Eagles beat Washington 20-16, Hurts was walking off the field and to the tunnel at FedEx Field when a railing separating fans from the field collapsed, sending several Eagles fans tumbling down around their quarterback.

Neither Hurts nor any of the fans were hurt, and the Eagles’ quarterback made light of the situation by helping the fans up and even posing for photos before returning to the locker room.

Hurts once again led the Eagles’ run-heavy attack against Washington, complementing his running backs by carrying the ball seven times for 44 yards while also completing 17 of 26 passes for 214 yards. With their win over Washington, the Eagles continued their bounce back season, improving to 9-7 and ensuring a winning campaign while also putting themselves in a position to clinch a Wild Card berth in the NFC.
