What you need to know about the Bulls

The Bulls didn’t have too much breathing room in their matchup with the Pistons on Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 94-88 victory. Chicago’s Zach LaVine was one of the most active players for the team, picking up 34 points in addition to seven boards.

The new-look Bulls roster struggled through some shooting woes in the first half but LaVine shouldered the heavy load in the second half. He went 11-for-17 from the floor and was a perfect 11-for-11 from the free-throw line. Nikola Vucevic shot it poorly (7-for-21) but still had 15 points, 15 rebounds and four assists to contribute to the win.

What you need to know about the Pelicans

Meanwhile, it was all tied up 53-53 at halftime, but the Pelicans were not quite the 76ers’ equal in the second half when they met on Wednesday. Things couldn’t have gone much worse for New Orleans as the Pelicans lost 117-97. Jonas Valanciunas had a pretty forgettable game, playing for 29 minutes but putting up just nine points on 3-for-19 shooting.

However, Brandon Ingram, Devonte’ Graham and Nickeil Alexander-Walker all played well offensively in the loss. Ingram had 25 points, Alexander-Walker had 23 points and Graham had 18 points with the trio combining to go 27-for-51 from the field and and 9-for-17 from the 3-point line.
