Current Records: Minnesota 3-5; Los Angeles 5-3

What to Know

The Minnesota Vikings are staying on the road next Sunday to face off against the Los Angeles Chargers at 4:05 p.m. ET Nov. 14 at SoFi Stadium. Los Angeles will be strutting in after a win while the Vikings will be stumbling in from a loss.

Minnesota fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result, falling 34-31. The losing side was boosted by QB Kirk Cousins, who passed for two TDs and 187 yards on 28 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown. Cousins ended up with a passer rating of 140.40.

Speaking of close games: on Sunday the Chargers sidestepped the Philadelphia Eagles for a 27-24 victory. It was another big night for Los Angeles’ QB Justin Herbert, who passed for two TDs and 356 yards on 38 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown.

Minnesota is now 3-5 while Los Angeles sits at a mirror-image 5-3. Two defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Vikings come into the matchup boasting the second most sacks in the NFL at 27. Less enviably, the Chargers are worst in the league in rushing yards allowed per game, with 161.6 on average.
