How to watch Southern Miss vs. UTEP: Live stream, TV channel, start time for Saturday’s NCAA Football game

Through 3 Quarters

The UTEP Miners are on the road but looking no worse for wear. Three quarters in and their offense has really been able to impose its will, dominating the Southern Miss Golden Eagles 21-7 three quarters in. The two offenses are keeping pace with one another yardage-wise, too, separated by only 92 yards.

The Miners have enjoyed the tag-team combination of RB Ronald Awatt and WR Jacob Cowing. The former has rushed for one TD and 96 yards on 12 carries, while the latter has punched in one rushing touchdown. That touchdown — a 53-yard rush in the second quarter — was one of the highlights of the game.

With four sacks, the UTEP defense has been a true menace for Southern Miss’ offensive line. We’ll see if UTEP can continue to haunt the offensive line.

Current Records: UTEP 4-1; Southern Miss 1-4

What to Know

The UTEP Miners are 0-5 against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles since October of 2015, but they’ll have a chance to close the gap a little bit Saturday. The Miners and Southern Miss will face off in a Conference USA battle at 7 p.m. ET at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at M.M. Roberts Stadium. UTEP should still be riding high after a victory, while Southern Miss will be looking to get back in the win column.

UTEP was able to grind out a solid win over the Old Dominion Monarchs last week, winning 28-21.

Meanwhile, Southern Miss was within a late touchdown of stealing the victory, but they took the “L” against the Rice Owls 24-19.

This next contest is expected to be close, with UTEP going off at just a 1.5-point favorite. Those brave souls putting their money on the Golden Eagles against the spread have faith in an upset since their team’s 0-4 record ATS can’t hold a candle to UTEP’s 3-1.

The Miners’ victory brought them up to 4-1 while Southern Miss’ loss pulled them down to a reciprocal 1-4. A couple stats to keep an eye on: UTEP is 221st worst in the nation in thrown interceptions, having thrown six on the season. Southern Miss has experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the matchup with the 247th most thrown interceptions in the nation, having thrown nine on the season. It’s possible one of these Achilles’ heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
