Lamar Jackson accomplished a feat against the Chiefs no quarterback in NFL history has ever done

Lamar Jackson continues to rewrite the history books, finding ways to add new records to his already impressive NFL career. Still only 24 years old, Jackson found a way to add another herculean feat to his resume — something no quarterback in the 102 seasons of the NFL has ever accomplished.

Jackson finished 18 of 26 for 239 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions, while also finishing with 16 carries for 107 yards and two touchdowns in the Baltimore Ravens‘ thrilling 36-35 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. The former MVP became the first player ever to throw for 200 yards, rush for 100 yards, and rush for two touchdowns in a game.

“He’s incredible, man. That’s the guy right there,” Ravens tight end Mark Andrews said after the game. “It’s hard to put into words, but he put the team on his shoulders many, many times tonight. He’s leading the offense, doing the right things, making the right reads, and that’s what we need from him. Sometimes, things don’t go exactly our way, but being able to push through that, that’s the difference between wins and losses.”

Jackson now has four career games of 200 passing yards and 100 rushing yards, the most for any player in NFL history. He also recorded his ninth 100-yard rushing game, one behind Michael Vick for the most by a quarterback in NFL history. The Ravens improved to 9-0 when Jackson rushes for 100 yards. Jackson had his second career game rushing for 100 yards and two touchdowns, joining Billy Kilmer (1961) as the only quarterbacks to have multiple such games (since 1950).

Despite the two early interceptions, Jackson rebounded to complete 15 of his last 19 passes and combine for three touchdowns. The Ravens overcame a 28-17 second half deficit to pull off the victory, the signature win of Jackson’s career.

“He played great,” Ravens wide receiver Marquise Brown said. “Even when he threw his two picks, it was like, ‘Well, yes, you threw a pick, but look at that. Look at this.’ He still came in there and did what he does. He was poised. He stayed consistent. He’s the leader of this team.”
