MLB DFS: Top Dodgers vs. Giants DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy baseball picks, strategy for Oct. 14, 2021

The San Francisco Giants struggled to get the ball out of the infield in Tuesday’s NLDS loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The series returns to the Bay on Thursday, and Logan Webb could be the key to flipping the script from Game 4 on the mound and for MLB DFS lineups. Webb is 6-0 at home this season for the Giants with a 1.96 ERA and 86 strikeouts in 73.1 innings pitched.

Since the second half of the season, Webb is 7-0 as a starter with a 2.71 ERA in 16 games. In the Giants 4-0 Game 1 win, Webb had 10 strikeouts in 7.2 scoreless innings pitched. Is he an auto-play again on Thursday night? Perhaps a player like Chris Taylor, who has a career .308 batting average against Webb is also a name to consider in Thursday’s MLB DFS player pool. Before making any tough decisions on your MLB DFS picks, make sure you check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure.

McClure is a daily Fantasy pro who has won almost $2 million in his career. And when it comes to daily Fantasy baseball, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book “Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune” as a top MLB DFS player, McClure’s proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.

On Tuesday, McClure listed Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts among his top MLB DFS picks on FanDuel and DraftKings. The result: Betts hit an early home run and had a sacrifice-fly in the fifth inning to return 21 points on DraftKings and 28.7 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, with the MLB playoffs 2021 continuing on Thursday, October 14, McClure has locked in his top MLB daily Fantasy picks. Head to SportsLine now to see them

McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Thursday, October 14

One of McClure’s top Dodgers vs. Giants MLB DFS picks for Thursday is Dodgers second baseman Trea Turner, who is listed at $9,000 on FanDuel, and $5,300 on DraftKings. Turner hit an RBI double in the first inning on Tuesday night to get the scoring going, and the Dodgers never looked back. In his 21 career playoff games, Turner has ten multi-hit games and seven doubles.

Two of those multi-hit games have come just within this postseason. During the regular season, he had six hits, two RBI and a home run in six games at Oracle Park. Webb got the better of Turner in Game 1, and struck him out twice in three at bats. His two hits on Tuesday was a nice rebound from a hitless Game 3, and with the series on the line, he’s expected to step up one more time.

Another key in McClure’s optimal draft strategy includes stacking Turner with Los Angeles shortstop Corey Seager ($8,000 on FanDuel and $5,000 on DraftKings). Seager has reached base safely in all five games this postseason and is coming off his best playoff game this year.

Turner’s mate in the infield also had a two-hit performance in Game 4, and he also scored a pair of runs. Seager only had two hits in the three previous playoff games, so his success on Tuesday could signal the end of a mini-slump. During last year’s World Series run Seager finished the playoffs with a .328 batting average and eight home runs, and he has proven he can be a reliable postseason hitter.
