MLB DFS: Top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy baseball picks, strategy, advice for September 24, 2021

The Chicago White Sox were the first team to officially clinch a division title in Major League Baseball this season with their 7-2 win on Thursday over Cleveland in the first game of a double-header. This season, the Sox have had a number of useful MLB DFS players, but none have been as prolific as DH/first baseman Jose Abreu. Abreu’s 261 total bases, 113 RBI and 83 runs scored have produced 1,245 total points on DraftKings and 1,681 on FanDuel this season.

The White Sox have just nine games left on the schedule this season and wrap up their current series against Cleveland on Friday against Shane Bieber, who hasn’t pitched in three months. In 29 career at bats against Bieber, Abreu has hit .276 with three home runs. Now that the White Sox have the AL Central locked up, is Abreu still a top option for your Friday MLB DFS lineups? Before making any final decisions, be sure to check out the check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure

McClure is a daily Fantasy pro who has won almost $2 million in his career. And when it comes to daily Fantasy baseball, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book “Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune” as a top MLB DFS player, McClure’s proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.

On Thursday, McClure gave out Twins outfielder Byron Buxton in his player pool for both DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: Buxton went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and a run scored, returning 12 points on DraftKings and 15.2 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, with the 2021 MLB season nearing its conclusion, McClure has locked in his top MLB daily Fantasy picks for Friday. Head to SportsLine now to see them

McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for September 24, 2021

Leading McClure’s picks on Friday is Phillies second baseman Jean Segura, who is listed at $3,300 on FanDuel and $4,800 on DraftKings. Philadelphia trounced Pittsburgh 12-6 on Thursday and has a great opportunity to repeat that success on Friday. Pittsburgh’s probable starter, Sam Howard, comes into the game with a 5.80 ERA, but has primarily pitched as a reliever this season.

This season against Pittsburgh, Segura has hit .333 with three doubles and four RBI in three games. He’s never faced Howard, but against left-handed pitchers in 2021, he has batting splits of .323/.390/.519. Over the last two weeks, Segura has three home runs, four doubles and eight RBI.

Another key in McClure’s optimal MLB DFS strategy includes stacking Segura with Philadelphia catcher J.T. Realmuto ($3,600 on FanDuel, $5,100 on DraftKings). Realmuto has been on a tear as of late with six hits and seven RBI over his last three games. Against Pittsburgh on Thursday, he hit a home run and had four RBI as part of a 3-for-3 day from the plate.

Realmuto has also been brilliant over the last two weeks and has impressive batting splits of .370/.431/.609. He’s been equally as impressive against the Pirates in 2021 with three doubles, eight RBI and a stolen base in four games against Pittsburgh this season. Realmuto has been a better hitter at home than on the road and the Phillies still have a chance to catch the Braves atop the NL East before the end of the season.

How to set your MLB DFS lineups for September 24, 2021
