MLB DFS: Top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy baseball picks, strategy, advice for September 25, 2021

Shohei Ohtani appears to be on his way to winning the AL MVP despite Vladimir Guerrero Jr. contending for the AL Triple Crown and both have been staple of MLB DFS lineups all season. But if White Sox outfielder Luis Robert hadn’t missed over three months with a torn hip flexor he might have been able to slip his way into the conversation. Robert has been worth 3.4 wins above replacement and is slashing an absurd .355/.392/.569 after hitting a solo home run off Shane Bieber that won Chicago the game on Friday.

You can’t really go wrong with talents like Robert, Ohtani and Guerrero but affording those upper-echelon players means that you have to find value deeper in the MLB DFS DFS player pool. So where can you save a few bucks to go after the sport’s big stars and who has matchups that can be exploited on Saturday? Before making any MLB DFS picks, be sure to check out the check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure

McClure is a daily Fantasy pro who has won almost $2 million in his career. And when it comes to daily Fantasy baseball, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book “Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune” as a top MLB DFS player, McClure’s proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.

On Friday, McClure had White Sox starting pitcher Dylan Cease as one of his top starting pitching options. The result: Cease threw 5 1/3 innings of scoreless ball while striking out nine in a win over the Indians, returning 32.2 points on DraftKings and 49 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, with the 2021 MLB season nearing its conclusion, McClure has locked in his top MLB daily Fantasy picks for Saturday. Head to SportsLine now to see them

McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for September 25, 2021

One of McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Saturday is Blue Jays outfielder Corey Dickerson, who is listed at $2,300 on FanDuel and $2,900 on DraftKings. The 32-year-old has made a living as a hitter the last nine years and while he hasn’t had his best season, he’s still a valuable bat in the right matchups.

Dickerson’s OPS this season is 81 points higher against right-handed pitching this season and he’ll take on Twins righty John Gant on Saturday. Gant has a 4.73 ERA since joining the Twins earlier this season and Dickerson enters Saturday on a three-game hitting streak where he is 3-for-6.

Another key in McClure’s optimal MLB DFS strategy includes rostering Giants first baseman Brandon Belt ($3,800 on FanDuel, $4,600 on DraftKings). The 11th-year veteran has become a force in the middle of San Francisco’s lineup again since the start of last season.

In 2020, Belt slashed .309/.425/.591 and he’s followed that up by hitting a career-high 27 home runs and slashing .265/.371/.574 in 2021. Belt is on a four-game hitting streak where he’s 6-for-16 entering Saturday and he’s scored five runs during that stretch. He’s also had eight multi-hit games already in September and has a 1.071 OPS this month.

How to set your MLB DFS lineups for September 25, 2021
